Before welcoming the D7, Mystic Mountains Tours had a fleet of four buses with capacity ranging from 20 to 41. Five years ago they began looking for a replacement for one of their 7-metre Coasters as it was nearing the end of its service life. Originally, they were in the market for another Coaster until they began looking at the Yutong D7. While they had looked at this model previously and been impressed, the timing and size hadn’t been quite right for their fleet at the time. However, almost two decades later, the D7 has proved to be the perfect fit for their fleet.
“We looked at everything and the D7 stood out with the luxury seating, the additional size, the comfort for passengers and also for the driver. We just felt it was the best option we could make,” Lynn said.
Upgrades Where They Matter Most
Although similar in overall size to their previous Coaster, the D7 offers a major upgrade where it matters most: seating capacity. Where many other 7-metre models on the market seat merely 20, the D7 seats an additional seven passengers for a total of 27, providing capacity to service larger groups without the challenge of manoeuvring a full-sized coach. For Andrew and Lynn, this upgrade has already proven beneficial for one of their busiest wedding venue clients where they handle approximately 150 weddings each year.
“It’s the same size as the coaster, but it gave us seven more seats,” Andrew said.
While boosting capacity was a major upgrade, Andrew and Lynn also received personalised features tailored to their region-specific operations like a front-fitted light bar to improve night-time safety and a destination sign. Even the smallest details such as changing the placement of the internal microphone make all the difference for their operations.

“There’s always a shift in what your business is, and the shift for us is smaller groups that would like to go on one or two-day tours. So, this bus really meets the market, and we’ve not had that previously because our 20 seaters are more like school buses: not enough leg room, small seats, bit too bouncy, and uncomfortable, but this is premium quality in a smaller vehicle,” Lynn said.
With the D7’s comfortable coach seating, passenger curtains, individual air-conditioning vents, and luxury interior, this bus offers Mystic Mountain’s passengers an experience akin to a full-size coach, while remaining compact enough to navigate narrow, hilly roads and access destinations that larger vehicles simply can’t reach. They have already noticed the positive impact that the additional space and comfort will have on their day-to-day operations, with many customers expressing their love for the new D7.
“They come to the door, they step in and they go wow, this is amazing. They are quite surprised by the space, and the comfort in the seats,” she said.
